Laserglow's Hercules series is powered by a 2,500mW IR pump diode running at 2,400mW. In comparison, the most powerful laser pointers use 300mW or 500mW pump diodes. This means that our portable lasers not only have the highest output, but also have the longest life, as the diodes are never run near or above capacity.
Average Vs. Peak
In 2005, LASERGLOW.COM was the first company to start measuring the AVERAGE output power of handheld lasers as a true test of the laser's output when other companies were using PEAK power as the rating. Now we set a new standard. All HERCULES portable lasers are measured at their SUSTAINED AVERAGE output power. This means that no matter how long the unit stays on, it will continue to produce the rated output power. Limited only by battery capacity, the Hercules will not let you down!

Our lasers also PEAK in intensity, but this peak is not counted into our measurements of the SUSTAINED output power of your laser. For this reason, Laserglow's Aries and Hercules Series are the preferred choice for serious users.

THE LASERGLOW DIFFERENCE:

Green lasers have a natural tendency to PEAK in brightness when turned on, and then gradually drop in output power if no heat sink is present. This happens due to over-heating. This type of laser usually looks like a regular laser pointer, but with claimed output of up to 125mW.

Green lasers with a heatsink will also produce a PEAK, but will decline in output at a slower rate. Many retailers take advantage of this, and measure the AVERAGE output during this decline. This AVERAGE is taken over only 1-2 minutes- and sometimes over only 30 seconds.

Each Aries Series laser from Laserglow is tested to ensure SUSTAINED output power over 10 minutes of continuous operation!

The LASERGLOW Difference!
All Laserglow products are always rated at AVERAGE ouput power. This is very important to know when purchasing a laser, as handheld lasers have a tendency to 'peak' at much higer output power than average.
